Mick, a piper and whistler, and Caoimhin, a very fine fiddler, whistler, piper, flute-player and pipe-maker, are well known in Dublin and abroad. In this album they have made one of the finest recordings of the year, with a leaning toward Sliabh Luachra. It’s beautiful music with a great swing to it and is as good as anything either of them has ever done. There are pipes/fiddle duets and whistle duets, and the whole is blissfully free of percussive guitar or bodhr?n, which gives it a lovely old-fashioned feel. It’s actually indispensable.
