The CD is released by RTE Libraries and Archives to mark the end of the Mo Cheol Th? programme presented by Ciaran Mac Mathuna, the last edition of which was broadcast on 27th November 2005. Starting with the signature tune, The Lark in the Clear Air, played by Geraldine O Grady, its a feast of nostalgia for Mac Math?na?s fans, including musicians such as Denis Murphy and Paddy Glackin and writers Seamus Heaney and Benedict Kiely.
Taken from the archives of RTE in 1995, from the radio programme "Mo Cheol Thu", this CD comprises spoken word, poetry & music with a very classy list of contributors.
Word & poetry is mostly in English but does have some Gaelic content.
All very lovely, relaxing and listenable, as all good radio programmes should be.
