With the now legendary 1983 album, Mairead Ni Mhaonaigh and Frankie Kennedy first displayed that blend of energy, exuberance and musicality which found worldwide flowering in the music of altan. Frankie Kennedy's untimely death in 1994 is deeply lamented by all who know and love this music.
This recording represents a cross-section of the various Ulster styles of song and dance music that' made these artists such firm favourites at musical gatherings and concerts in Ireland, Europe and America.
