Dan has spent lots of time in the west of Ireland, which is the source for many of the tunes he plays here in the old 'push and draw' style. While the melodeon has all but been replaced by the two-row box in Irish music, Dan shows here that ten buttons can still produce a mighty sound. This is basically a live recording that has a great feel of being back in time, listening to the locals playing in the pub or around the kitchen table. Joining him on this CD are some first-rate musicians from Clare and Galway, namely Quentin Cooper, Jerry Mulvihill, and Alan Wallace. This is a delightful album full of lovely stuff, and it comes in an attractive Digipac containing detailed sleeve notes.
