This is the second CD from the Belfast flute player and in it there is a very strong reference to the music of Sligo and Roscommon, the country of his ancestors. The great Belfast sessions of the 70s and 80s have also had their influence as has the music of Donegal. Marcas himself has composed quite a few tunes and some of these are featured here. And he has included quite a few of his musical friends ? contemporaries such as Ciaran Curran and Oisin Mac Diarmada, people who have influenced him such as Ben Lennon and Seamus O?Kane, and some younger people who have been taught by himself. On one track there are ten traditional flute players playing together, and on some of them he plays tin whistle. It?s a great selection of different kinds of Irish music, and deserves to be popular.
